ABOUT US

Bob Sr. and Bob at the track

WILD AT HEART

THEMANBEHINDBHR

Bob Henry grew up at drag strips while his dad, Bob Sr., was racing at the local tracks in Ohio.  Bob didn't realize it then, but he developed a taste for top competition and adrenaline (and probably high performance exhaust fumes) through these experiences and transferred that passion early on into pursuing high school and college baseball.

Working his way toward playing pro baseball, Bob blew out his knee and thus lost his chance at professional baseball.  As many players do, Bob recovered and ended up stepping into competitive mens softball, winning two Softball World Series championships with the rings to prove it.

In 2000, after stepping down from competitive softball due to additional knee problems, Bob made the jump back into competitive drag racing.  Each new year has provided Bob more experience, better performance and a better understanding of how to support his fans and sponsors as much as they support him.  He has learned how to maximize top perforamance and thrill while avoiding the outrageous costs of running Top Fuel Nitro.  This, combined with Bob's professional experience as the Vice President of Operations for Gunnebo Johnson, helps him understand how to efficiently run a team as well as being keenly aware of what corporations need from their sponsorship investment.  This "COO in the Drivers Seat" approach keeps the Bob Henry Racing team running lean and mean while maximizing performance for the fans and benefits for the BHR partner sponsors.

Bob will finish 2015 with racing in fourteen NHRA or PDRA top dragster races. However, the best is just beginning as 2016 will see Bob Henry Racing pursuing a full season with his best performing car and engine combination yet.  A new partnership with Trigger-Switch Marketing Services will also help boost the BHR marketing program and ROI tracking.
